Friend and I have from time to time received representations on the condition of school buildings from teachers and head teachers organisations; responsibility for the repair and maintenance of school buildings rests with the local education authority. Any request from the president of the National Association of Headteachers in Wales for a meeting to discuss linkage between social deprivation and educational achievement will be carefully considered.
