To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Manchester, Blackley (Mr. Eastham) of 14 March,Official Report, column 479, if he will now raise the savings disregard to £4,000.

The level of the capital disregard is kept under review, but there are no current plans to increase it.
