How many Public Interest Certificates were issued by the Department of Trade and Industry in each of the past 10 years; and how many were in connection with criminal proceedings.

In 1993, my department signed eight PII certificates, of which five concerned criminal proceedings. In 1992, four were signed, of which three concerned criminal proceedings. No central records are held for previous years.
