Dr. Godman

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what was the total number of claimant families in Scotland in(a) 1992–93 and (b) 1993–94.

Information is not available in the precise form requested as it is only available on a regional basis for certain benefits. Information on benefit recipients for 1993 is not yet available for some benefits. Such information as is available is in the tables.
