To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what date he received a submission from solicitors acting on behalf of George Long—B25147; and when he expects to reach a decision.

Representations about Mr. Long's convictions for murder in 1979 were received from his solicitors on 24 June 1993. Further inquiries have been made, and my right hon. and learned Friend expects that he will soon be in a position to decide whether there is any action he should take in Mr. Long's case.
