§ Dr. MawhinneyThese costs have been met from moneys voted by Parliament for the national health service, out of the Department of Health budget for paying provider units the costs of treatments to all overseas visitors exempt from NHS charges. The total budget, the use of which is restricted to this specific purpose, is £12 million for this financial year of which about £6.1 million has been spent. To date, costs of treating Bosnians amount to £517,000 in 1992–93 and 1993–94.
