HL Deb 11 October 1993 vol 549 c9WA
Baroness Hollis of Heigham

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What they estimate would be the annual cost of extending income support to those 16 and 17 year-olds waiting more than eight weeks for a registered training place.

Viscount Astor

The requested information is not available. Income support under the severe hardship provision acts as a safety net so that no 16 or 17 year-old registered for and seeking work and a training place need encounter hardship.
