To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many ships are currently in full-time service in the Royal Navy.

Mr. Hanley

On 30 November, there were 130 commissioned surface vessels and submarines in service with the Royal Navy. There are also 21 vessels in service with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, whose supporting role is essential to the provision of the Royal Navy's overall capability.
