The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about the new visitor's centre at Wandsworth prison.Work on converting an existing quarter adjacent to the prison gate to a visitor's centre was completed in September, at a cost of £35,000. A Centre Co-ordinator has recently been appointed and the centre is expected to come into use early in the New Year.
