Mr. Dewar

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will estimate the effect on revenues in 1993–94 and 1994–95 of reducing the maximum amount of rebate payable for(a) housing benefit and (b) council tax benefit to (i) 90 per cent., (ii) 80 per cent. and (iii) 70 per cent. of eligible rent on council tax payments.
