§ Mr. Lennox-BoydBangladesh, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda are designated as priority countries for United Kingdom family planning and population assistance. The selection criteria used to choose these countries were: the unmet demand for reproductive health and family planning services; their gross national product per capita; and the potential effectiveness of United Kingdom aid for population programmes.
The list of priority countries is kept under regular review. We also currently provide population assistance to Ghana, Namibia, South Africa, (via an NGO), Zambia, Zimbabwe and Nepal.
