To ask the Secretary of State for Employment, pursuant to her answer of 5 May,Official Report, column 136, how many employers and employer bodies have made written representations on wages councils (a) for or (b) against abolition.

Since announcement of the Bill, we have received 140 representations from employers and employer bodies supporting abolition and 25 against.
