HC Deb 19 May 1993 vol 225 c221W
22. Mr. David Nicholson

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on progress with the one-stop shops initiative.

Mr. Heseltine

Six areas have been chosen to run the first pilots. The areas are Birmingham, Halton—north Cheshire—Hertfordshire, Manchester, south and east Cheshire and Tyneside. There are a further nine areas where plans are in an advanced stage. This will bring the number of one-stop shops to around 50.

I am determined that we should build on the momentum which has already been achieved and move as quickly as possible towards a full one-stop shop network.
