To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has to reduce the United Kingdom's current and planned defence expenditure on(a) the United Kingdom armed forces and (b) the United Kingdom's contribution to NATO to allow for United Kingdom expenditure on the WEU; and what account is taken of WEU expenditure in framing the United Kingdom's defence budget.

We have no such plans. Funding of WEU defence-related activities is taken into account in our annual expenditure plans.
