§ 36. Mr. FabricantTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what conclusions he has drawn from experience of the practice of Sunday trading in Scotland.
§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonOver the years Sunday trading practices in Scotland have evolved in line with the wishes of the local communities. Sunday trading in Scotland occurs mainly in urban areas. It fulfils a need for some members of the public without seriously disadvantaging others. The present arrangements appear to work well and to the satisfaction of the great majority of the Scottish public.
