HL Deb 05 May 1993 vol 545 c35WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What representations they have received regarding their proposals to reduce casualty services at St. Bartholomew's Hospital; and whether the service provided by all grades of staff to the casualties of the bomb explosion on 24th April will persuade them to review their policy.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Cumberlege)

A number of representations have been received and, where appropriate, have been passed on to North East Thames Regional Health Authority, which has responsibility for consultation on the future of St. Batholomew's accident and emergency department. As part of its considerations, the region will take into account what services are required to respond to major incidents.
