§ Mr. Peter BottomleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what is her estimate of the change in standard spending assessment for social services in Greenwich if the 1991 census information were used for 1993–94.
§ Mr. YeoPopulation data from the 1991 census have already been incorporated in standard spending assessments (SSAs) for 1993–94. If information on social factors from the 1981 census were to be replaced by that available from the 1991 census, the SSA for personal social services for Greenwich for 1993–94 would increase by 9.8 per cent. The current review of SSAs will involve a number of further changes and may result in a different outcome when it is completed later this year.
