To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what was the average number of unemployed in each travel-to-work area in Gloucestershire in each year since 1979; and what percentage of the work force this represented.

Travel-to-work-areas do not correspond exactly to county boundaries. Gloucestershire is made up of the 252W TTWAs of Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester plus parts of Cheltenham, Evesham, Cinderford and Ross-on-Wye, Malvern and Ledbury and Swindon.
