To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make it his policy to produce a code of practice on the use of women in advertisements.

The codes of advertising practice administered by the advertisting industry's self-regulatory bodies require that advertisements be legal, decent. honest and truthful. Complaints about advertisements are judged against the prevailing standards of decency and acceptability and a separate code concerning the portrayal of women in advertising is unnecessary.
