To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the estimated numbers of tax-immune foreigners in the United Kingdom for each year since 1979.

§ Mr. Dorrell
On the assumption that this refers to individuals who are liable for tax in this country only on their overseas income and gains to the extent that they are remitted here, I am afraid that information is not available on which to base an estimate.
