To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many nurses are currently employed by each health board in Scotland; and what this number represents as a percentage total of qualified nurses employed in the NHS in each board.

[holding answer 25 March 1993]: The information requested is not available centrally. The table shows the average whole time equivalents for agency nurses, the only non-permanent nursing staff for whom data are available.
