Mr. Sproat

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will list(a) the number of occasions, in each of the last 10 years, when an inquiry has been set up under section 17 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992 and its predecessor section and Act, to consider cases where persons claiming to be self-employed were considered by his Department to be employed and (b) the number of occasions when, on receipt of the inquirer's report, the original decision of his Department that the person was not self-employed but employed was overturned.
