HC Deb 25 March 1993 vol 221 c661W
Mr. Win Griffiths

To ask the Secretary of State for Education what measures he intends to take to help children who care for disabled or terminally ill relatives to attend school regularly.

Mr. Forth

Regular school attendance is important for all pupils. Where special circumstances exist at home, we look to schools to liaise closely with education welfare officers and local authority social services departments to ensure that children are not thereby prevented from attending school.
