To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people were fined in courts in the Metropolitan police district in each of the six months up to the latest available date; and, of that number, how many people defaulted on their fines.

The information readily available centrally on the persons fines in the Metropolitan police district in the last six months of 1991 is given in the table. Data on people defaulting on their fines are not held centrally.
