§ Mr. BlunkettTo ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will make a statement on(a) the content of her Department's executive training programmes, (b) the cost per year of these programmes in 1992–93 and 1993–94 and (c) her policy on the use of cosmetic courses for women hospital managers.
§ Dr. MawhinneyThe content of executive coaching consists of:
- initial diagnostic interview;
- up to 12 hours one to one sessions with a coach designed around individual needs;
- a follow-up interview six months after completion of the coaching.
The average cost of the programme is £1,500 per person which compares favourably with other forms of management development.
Approximately £100,000 has been spent on the programme in 1992–93 with a second tranche of 45 women contracted to join the programme in 1993–94; the approximate cost is £67,500.
Ministerial policy on individual positive image sessions is that these will not be available through the women in the national health service management development programme.
