§ Sir Hector Monro[holding answer 19 March 1993]: The information sought is not held centrally. It is estimated that at June 1992 (a) 13,281 people were employed on farms which grow potatoes, (b) 8,636 on dairy farms and (c) 4,699 on mainly sheep and mixed sheep/beef farms.
