HC Deb 22 March 1993 vol 221 cc453-4W
Mr. Morgan

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proposals he has for Her Majesty's Customs to alter the status of(a) the approved clearance point, (b) approved hours for freight delivery and (c) the entry processing unit at Cardiff Wales airport; and if he will make a statement.

Sir John Cope

[holding answer 19 March 1993]There are no current proposals to alter the status of the entry processing unit covering Cardiff Wales airport. The approved clearance point and the entry processing unit are, for Customs purposes, the same in that the place for lodgement of Customs entries and their clearance is the entry processing unit. Customs entries for Cardiff Wales airport have, since November 1991, been lodged and cleared at Barry docks.

Customs place no restriction on the times of delivery of cleared cargo. This is a matter for the approved transit shed operator at Cardiff Wales airport.
