§ Mr. Blunkett
To ask the Secretary of State for Health what action she is taking to protect bone marrow transplant services for children with metabolic disorders in the Westminster area; and if she will make a statement.
§ Mr. Sackville
Children with metabolic disorders are able to receive these services if clinicians agree that a bone marrow transplant is an appropriate course of treatment and a suitable donor is available. The location at which such procedures are carried out is determined by the availability of the necessary expertise.
