asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many British police officers and customs officers there are now resident in Continental European countries, employed by the British Government to fight the drugs trade and other serious crime, with details on a city-by-city basis.

At present there are 11 Drugs Liaison Officers in European Community member states. They are based in:

  • Brussels
  • Paris
  • Frankfurt
  • Rome
  • The Hague
  • Lisbon
  • Madrid

In addition, there are three police counter-terrorism liaison officers based in Paris, Wiesbaden and The Hague.
