§ Mr. SackvilleThe Department keeps the potential risks of these implants under review and provides advice. The Chief Medical Officer wrote to all doctors on this topic in January 1992. A copy of the letter has been placed in the Library.
It remains the professional responsibility of clinicians to inform patients about the possibility of any known side effects in the process of obtaining consent.
