HC Deb 15 March 1993 vol 221 cc32-3W
Mr. David Atkinson

To ask the Prime Minister when he now expects to receive the final report on the outcome of the visit to China of the delegation led by Lord Howe to discuss human rights last December; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

I refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave him on 17 December 1992 at column352. Work on the report by my right hon. noble and learned Friend, Lord Howe, is well advanced. As soon as it is available we propose to place copies in the Library of the House and to make it available to the public. We continue to raise the issue of human rights in China, most recently in Geneva at the UN Commission on Human Rights, and with Chinese embassy officials here on 4 March.
