To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what he expects the strength of the Royal Navy will be in 1994.

The strength of the Royal Navy will vary throughout 1994, as new ships enter service and others are paid off. A snapshot of the strength of the fleet on 1 April 1994 will be published, as usual, in the 1994 statement on the defence estimates.
