§ Mr. Fabricant
To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many answers have been submitted by his Department in response to written parliamentary questions asked by the hon. Member for Ceredigion and Pembroke, North (Mr. Dafis) in the current Session of Parliament; what was the estimated cost to his Department; and what estimate has been made of the amount of paper and card used in preparing the answers.
§ Mr. Howard
My Department has answered 259 questions from the hon. Member for Ceredigion and Pembroke, North (Mr. Dafis) so far this session. I have no estimates of the cost to my Department of answering these questions as we do not routinely keep such records. However, I understand that the present guidelines suggest an advisory cost limit of £450 per question. My Department also does not keep records of how much paper and card are used in answering questions from hon. Members.
