§ Mr. BattleTo ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what progress has been made tackling the lack of permanent move-on accommodation under the homeless mentally ill initiative;
(2) if she will fund the revenue care costs for the move-on housing supplied to the homeless mentally ill initiative by the Housing Corporation;
(3) who is to fund the revenue care costs for the move-on housing supplied to the homeless mentally ill initiative by the Housing Corporation.
§ Mr. YeoThe Housing Corporation has agreed to secure 750 move-on places for people resettled by the homeless mentally ill initiative, a £20 million scheme to offer accommodation and psychiatric support to homeless mentally ill people. In general, it is for local social services departments to meet the costs of providing social care for people once they are resettled into the community. However, the Department is prepared to consider meeting some costs on an interim basis if longer-term guarantees of funding can be secured. Officials are having constructive discussions with the relevant local authorities about this.
