HL Deb 24 June 1993 vol 547 c18WA
Lord Hutchinson of Lullington

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What proportion of suspects failed to answer (i) police bail, (ii) bail before magistrates' courts and (iii) bail to appear in the Crown Court in the latest year for which figures are available

Earl Ferrers

The information requested is published annually in Criminal Statistics, England and Wales, Chapter 8. In 1991, 7 per cent. of persons bailed by the police, 7 per cent. of those hailed by magistrates' courts and 9 per cent. of those bailed to appear at the Crown Court failed to appear.
