§ Mr. AitkenWe are currently engaged in a NATO ballistic missile defence (BMD) study based on a postulated risk of accidental or deliberate ballistic missile attack against NATO in the post-cold war era. We are also defining an internal pre-feasibility study into possible BMD systems to counter potential threats against the United Kingdom and our forces deployed overseas.
