§ Mr. NorrisThe Department of Transport's marine emergency operations room was notified by Dover coastguard of the incident by telex message at 07.36 on Thursday 3 June. The operations room informed Lord Caithness, the Minister for Shipping, who informed the Secretary of State at approximately 09.30.
