To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total gross allocation to Scotland for health expenditure in the year 1993–94; and if he will publish a breakdown of(a) the revenue and capital allocation components of the gross total, (b) of the final allocation for practice team staff and premises and (c) the total gross allocation, the revenue and capital components of it and the final allocation for practice team staff and premises for each of the regional health authorities.

The total gross allocation to Scotland for health expenditure in the year 1993–94 is £3,923 million comprising £3,754 million revenue and £169 million capital. The final allocation for practice team staff and premises will be £58.8 million. The total gross allocation, the revenue and capital components of it and the allocation to date for practice team staff and premises for each health board is as follows:

The remaining £1,268.2 million is mainly for expenditure on family health services but also on centrally financed and other specific services. These costs are met as they arise during the year.
