§ Mr. Austin Mitchell
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the sections of the Banking Act 1987 under which the Bank of England is specifically required to owe a duty of care to the bank depositors.

§ Mr. Nelson
The Banking Act 1987 does not impose such a duty upon the Bank of England.
