How many individuals had applications for loans from the Social Fund refused because of inability to repay, and whether their monitoring includes information on the subsequent fate of these individuals.

Information on the number of loan applications refused because of inability to repay is set out in Annexes 12, 13, 16 and 17 of my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State's Annual Report on the Social Fund which was published on 13th July a copy of which is in the Library. Data on individual applicants are not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
