As at 1 October 1992, 82 per cent. of general practitioners in England were contracted with family health services authorities to provide contraceptive services to patients on their own list. For the same date, 17 per cent. of GPs in England were contracted with FHSAs to provide contraceptive services to patients on any list.
Data from a biannual survey indicates that about half of the GPs in England put in claims for the fitting of IUCDs for the six-month period ending 30 September 1992.
