Whether the United States has claimed to have been acting in self defence, and therefore in accordance with the United Nations Charter, and if' so to whom the US has conveyed the evidence of the alleged attempt on Mr. Bush's life.

The United States have made clear that they were acting in self-defence. The United States briefed the United Nations Security Council about the evidence of Iraqi intelligence involvement in an attempt on the life of former President Bush on 27th June.
