To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether all sales of tobacco in NHS premises have now ceased.

Mr. Sackville

"The Health of the Nation" White Paper gave a commitment that all sales of tobacco on national health service premises would be stopped, except to long-stay patients who are smokers. This has largely been achieved.

The Department is ensuring that the handful of sites still to meet this commitment do so as soon as possible.
