§ Mr. ForthInformation on the expenditure on nursery places or on the numbers of nursery places available is not collected centrally. I refer my hon. Friend to the reply that I gave on 21 January 1993 to the hon. Member for Wallsend (Mr. Byers) at column353, on the latest available information on the numbers of pupils in nursery classes and schools in each local education authority, expressed as rates per 100 population aged three and four.
