To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement outlining the position underlying the oral statement of the Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the right hon. Member for Watford (Mr. Garel-Jones), on 18 January,Official Report, column 144, concerning a possible obligation on the United Kingdom to rejoin the exchange rate mechanism at any particular date.
