§ Mr. RookerTo ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will list those higher education institutions which receive public funds from his Department by way of fees for each undergraduate above those set from time to time in the three bands of tuition fees.
§ Mr. BoswellFees, other than the tuition fees payable to universities, are paid by local education authorities for students at the constituent colleges of the universities of Cambridge, Durham, Kent, Lancaster, Oxford and York in recognition of their collegiate structure. The recurrent grant paid to these universities by the Universities Funding Council is abated in recognition of these college fee payments.
