To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has any plans to privatise or contract out the operation of the police central computer in whole or in part.

§ Mr. Charles Wardle
As announced last year in "The Citizens' Charter: First Report" (Cm 2101), the operation of the police national computer is among the functions of the Home Department which are included in the current market testing programme.
