§ Mr. MorganTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what consultations she has had with the NHS Trusts Association concerning the application of the Government's pay guidelines for the public sector to the pay of chief executives and other senior staff of new NHS trusts coming into being on 1 April; and where those chief executives and senior staff are presently in post in analogous jobs.
§ Dr. MawhinneyMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State met the National Health Service Trust Federation on 10 December 1992 and discussed with them the application of public sector pay restraint. My right hon. Friend emphasised that the need for restraint applied to the salaries of chief executives as well as other NHS staff.
