§ Mr. McFallTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what amount of money the Government transferred to Tarmac Construction for the liability it assumed for the redundancy entitlements of staff who transferred with PSA Projects under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981.
§ Mr. RedwoodMoney was not transferred to Tarmac Construction specifically for the liabilities it assumed for staff redundancy entitlements. Under the severance sharing scheme Tarmac will be reimbursed for the costs of making staff redundant on an agreed basis subject to the overall limit to the Government's liability for redundancy payments in respect of staff as detailed in the answer given to the Member for Welwyn Hatfield (Mr. Evans), on 25 November 1992.
