To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will list the amount of investment in new capital machinery at each of the 10 pits currently in the 90-day consultation period in the financial year 1990–91 to 1991–92 and April to September 1992.

The amount of investment in new capital machinery at individual pits is a matter for British Coal.
